Psychology Internship in India

by Anonymous

Hi! I am from India. One of my friends studying in the UK told me that any kind of work experience or internship that we do after graduation (3 years honours course) in India is not counted as work experience. She said that this is because there is no professional body like the APA or BPS in India that provides license, so the credibility of the professionals we intern under is questionable.

I wish to know if the same is true for the United States. Will any work experience be discounted even if it is done under a psychiatrist - for whom there is a regulatory body?
