Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Lab Assistant for the Department of Psychology. This position will report to the principal investigator and support daily operations of the behavioral and systems neuroscience research laboratory.

Position Salary:  $11.00/hr

Terms of Appointment: Temporary Staff Appointment - Hourly

Minimum Education and Experience

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a scientific/technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant laboratory technician or research study experience carrying out research protocols and tests, or other technical work may be substituted for the degree.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience with transgenic mice and transgenic breeding colonies. 
  • Knowledge of Calcium imaging technique 
  • Experience with computer programming (MATLAB, Python) and/or signal processing 
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience in neuroscience or biological research or a closely related field. 
  • Must also work well as a member of a collaborative team, be highly organized, have attention to detail and excellent time-management skills.
