The Effects of Stress on The Human Body

I was a psychology major in the 1960s. One of the textbooks I used discussed the effects of stress on the human body. The text included photo-copies of several hand-written letters from a soldier in combat in the South Pacific. They were shown in date-order and were used to illustrate how stress can influence both physical and mental processes.

Does anyone have the name of the textbook which included the material or where I can get a copy of it?
