Strange Behavior

My family is in the residential construction business. We have a new home on the market which had been broken into recently. While no damage was done, the individual pulled out every drawer and opened ever door to the cabinets in the kitchen and bathrooms.

They also opened every single closet door throughout the house. The attic door was opened and the stairs were pulled down. In the kitchen the refrigerator, oven and microwave doors were all opened as were the glass doors on the fireplace.

As mentioned, no damage whatsoever was done, but we just found this extremely strange. Is there a meaning behind someone doing this?
