Predetermined Adult Character Traits by age 7

My overinflated/egotistical boss said today that there have been millions of studies done that show most children by the age of 7 are already predetermined for how they will act as adults. Is this true?


The conversation started when we were discussing an employee that doesn't like to work, or just plain doesn't show up. If it is true, would you kindly provide me with some links or names of the studies? I would be very interested in reading them.
