Obsession Syndrome

Could anyone tell me the scientific name of the syndrome in which a person visits a place (or a shrine) and becomes so obsessed that they actually believe they are part of that place's history? I understand people can get this way when they visit holy sites such as Jerusalem, Mecca, etc.
